Obama Misrepresenting His Record

Joel Mowbray has a terrific op-ed piece "Obama's Falsehood" in yesterday's Washington Times (see article) (Aug. 21) that detailing Obama's misrepresentation of the facts surrounding his opposition to the Born Alive Infants Act while in the Illinois State Senate. It appears that the legion of reporters in the tank for Obama are willing to give the candidate the equivalent of a political mulligan by allowing him to subtly nuance or offer multiple explanations for troubling votes. Mowbray takes a swipe at news outlets for failing to examine the large body of documentation on this issue available from the National Right to Life and on the Illinois General Assembly website.

The Wall Street Journal's John Fund also addressed Obama's attempt to deceive (see article): Mr. Obama compounded his problems after the forum when in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network, he accused pro-life groups of "lying" about his record in the Illinois State Senate on legislation that would have protected viable babies born after botched abortions. Mr. Obama acknowledged voting against the bill but said he would have voted "yes" if the bill had contained language similar to a federal bill's language making clear that the intention wasn't to diminish overall abortion rights. But, as recently revealed, the Illinois bill had indeed included such language and Mr. Obama still voted against it.

My new book Audacity of Deceit details Obama's efforts to defeat the Born Alive Infants Act. You can pre-order a copy today at Amazon.

The Audacity Of Deceit: Barak Obama

* Raising taxes from the low rate of 28% under Ronald Reagan to economy-destroying 60% rate under Herbert Hoover. * Handing Out Federal medical insurance to more than 12 million aliens, and increasing emergency room costs by $15.4 billion annually. * Appointing ultra-liberal, anti-business Supreme Court judges who would reverse the ruling that bans partial birth abortion, and the ruling that confirms the Second Amendment is an individual right. * Would take 25% of farmland out of production to satisfy environmental lobbyists, causing increased food costs and worldwide food shortages. * Implementing a "zero to five" program designed to transfer infant and child raising responsibilities for children under five from parents to the federal government. * Establishing a government agency to approve what types of medical procedures and operations senior citizens are permitted to have. * Increasing the liberal majority in Congress by allowing felons to vote. * Waging a trade war that would eliminate 10 million American jobs and re-establish the tariff system implemented by Herbert Hoover
